To share the true spirit of Hawai`i and it’s people and their connection to the aina (land) we take you on an adventure of exploration through Ka ohia o ke keiki, olelo Hawai`i, mele, hula, pule and oli (baby ohia forest, song, dance, prayer and chant). Gathering at 9 a.m. we drive south, stopping at Manuka to discuss Hawai`ian culture & practices, chant, pule and cultural protocols. Continuing south we go off highway to practice the ancient art of gathering, in a sacred way. When our sacks are full our stomachs will be empty as we travel north to the perfect location to enjoy our pa`ina or luau featuring hawai`ian dishes old & new (special diets can be accommodated by request). Going north again brings us to Pu`uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, a sacred place to us, home to one restored heiau (temple) & location of 6 others. We will find our special place along the shore & rest, create our leis & “talk story”. With sufficient time before sunset you will learn hula, the meanings, the forms & the power of this ancient & modern celebration of life. At sunset we will move to a special location and make offerings & blessings incorporating the tradition of awa and ti. Saying Aloha no, a hui hou to the wonderful sun that has blessed our day we return home saying Maika`i loa
